The Circle of Darlings

A community-led literary event celebrating indie authors, emerging voices, and the power of storytelling across generations.Enjoy food, live interviews, author talks, and conversations with both established writers and the next generation of storytellers as they share how their journeys began.All ages are welcome. A dedicated children’s station will be available for younger attendees, supported by volunteers who hold current Working With Children Checks, ensuring a safe and inclusive space for families.

K. L. HarrisK. L. Harris is the award-winning author of the YA fantasy adventure series Archives of the Night-Watchers and the picture book The World is Full of A**Holes. She lives in Western Australia and is the managing director of Make-Believe Press.

Lily GaultonBlossom is a novel written by Lily Gaulton, a passionate twelve-year-old girl with disabilities, medical conditions, and allergies. She wrote this book so she could express her own feelings, as well as Blossom’s, and share environments and experiences for other young people, both disabled and non-disabled, to hear and connect with.

Bernadette PiperBernadette lives in Secret Harbour, Western Australia and writes from an Australian perspective.She has published Tomorrow’s Roses, set in Fremantle during the last year of WW2, and Tomorrow’s Promise, set in Cottesloe and other locations around the world during the turmoil of the Vietnam War.Tomorrow’s Promise won Bernadette a recommendation from the Society of Women Writers WA in their 2025 Book Award.Her third novel, A Holiday Promise, came about when researching a news article that stated that of 143 bodies exhumed at a grave site in High Park, Dublin, only 75 were identified by name. The story evolved into one of sacrifice and secrets, of a search for the truth and a father’s love.Bernadette is an Indie author who creates tender, romantic stories that inspire. Her books combine heartfelt emotions with meaningful messages, offering readers an escape filled with love and hope.
